Dr. Alexander Thomas is the Director (CEO) of the Bangalore Baptist Hospital (BBH). Under his dynamic leadership BBH is proud to be the first mission hospital in the country to receive both NABH and NABL accreditation. The institution has been recognized nationally for Excellence in Teaching-2012 by NBE, Operational excellence by FICCI Healthcare Excellence Award 2012 and for Healthcare Communication and Quality by the QCI DL Shah Award 2013 & 2014 respectively for he is passionate about strengthening quality, patient safety and satisfaction in healthcare across the nation. Dr. Alexander led the healthcare communication initiative to develop and release the first healthcare communication book; 'Communicate, Care, Cure' in the country. At the National level he has been a part of the National Technical Committee for setting standards of the Clinical Establishment Act, member of the India Backbone Implementation Network (IbIn – An initiative of the Planning Commission) and a founding member of three premium national healthcare organizations namely; Consortium of Accredited Healthcare Organization ((CAHO) - A Network of 200 Hospitals and 400 Laboratories), President of Association of Health Care Providers (AHPI) and Vice President of Association of National Board Accredited Institutions ((Anbai) Network of 450 Teaching Hospitals). He is a founding member of the Consortium of Christian Coalition for Health in India (CCHI), an All India Network of Christian Healthcare Institutions.
